{"id":2800,"date":"2014-04-05T21:42:25","date_gmt":"2014-04-05T20:42:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lathiau.fr\/ecluse-de-mantelot-2\/"},"modified":"2014-04-05T21:42:25","modified_gmt":"2014-04-05T20:42:25","slug":"ecluse-de-mantelot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lathiau.fr\/es\/ecluse-de-mantelot\/","title":{"rendered":"Mantelot Lock at Chatillon sur Loire &#8211; 14 mn to South"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"long_text\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"hps\">A unique site<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">in<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">France<\/span>!<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hps\">At once<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">an old boat station<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">a<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">lock<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">classified<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">as a Historic Monument<\/span>. <span class=\"hps\">Between 1838<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and 1896<\/span>, <span class=\"hps\">before<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the construction of the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Canal Bridge<\/span>, navigation <span class=\"hps\">was done<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">between<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">this lock<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">(left bank)<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and that one of the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Combes<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">(right bank)<\/span>. <span class=\"hps\">The<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">river crossing<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">was dangerous<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">during high<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">water<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and maneuvers<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">were extremely<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">painful<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and lengthy.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Hence the idea<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">of the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">canal bridge<\/span>!<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hps\">Now a<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">bucolic<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and quiet<\/span> place <span class=\"hps\">where<\/span> we can rest in the shade of <span class=\"hps\">trees <\/span> . <span class=\"hps\">Walks<\/span><span>, bike<\/span><span>, boat<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and visit<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">&#8230;<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Chatillon<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">sur Loire,<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">old town<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">rich in<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">architectural heritage.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A unique site in France!
